About

Anne and her Paintings

The magnificent nature surrounding me is my greatest source of inspiration.
My compositions are often colorful and full of life – animals, a few people, and love. Through my paintings, I express my experiences of nature.

My paintings are me, and I am them. They are filled with nuances and shadows – from dark, inaccessible places to bright, playfully light spaces. Often, mysterious and enchanted realms must be passed through to reach the open landscape.

I embrace art – fully and unreservedly.
No to restraint. No to what is merely nice and polished.
Yes to strength, honesty, and to art that can be felt.
Over time, a sense of harmony has settled within me – a quiet center from which I can create freely and without compromise.

My artistic expression clearly draws from Expressionism.
I use colors and brushstrokes to shape what lives inside me – emotions, sensations, and temperament. Expressionism is a rebellion against prettiness – in color choices, in motifs, and in the way the world is portrayed.

Here, the inner is brought out into the outer world, unfiltered – with force, vulnerability, and intensity.
Art becomes a space where I can be whole.

The Colorful Team – AntAnne

  • An international collaboration between Mexico and Denmark
The international and vibrant team consists of two very different, dynamic artists. They share a deep love of vivid colors, nature, storytelling, and the richness of life:

    Anne Engsig, Danmark
Originally a teacher (including in visual arts) and a trained psychotherapist. Anne co-founded the treatment center Hjulsøgård, which continues to provide professional treatment for people struggling with addiction.

Anne has apprenticed as a painter with Antonio Lopez Vega and has attended a number of selected art schools and painting courses in Denmark.

    Antonio Lopez Vega, Mexico
Educated at the Instituto Allende art school in San Miguel de Allende. After completing his education there, he continued his studies and artistic work at the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza in Yucatán, Mexico.
Antonio Lopez Vega is a respected and experienced teacher and artist in Mexico, Canada, and the USA. His knowledge of and passion for both Danish and Mexican art fuels the desire to bridge and unite the wild differences between the two cultures.
